
Overview
ETCR1400 Overhead Line Ground Fault Detector is a new type of ground fault inspection detector for overhead line which is carefully developed by our company. It is suitable for inspection of single-phase ground faults in overhead high-voltage lines not longer than 25 kilometers, and accurately search and locate the ground fault point, and the line needs to stop working during the inspection operation. The instrument can accurately search hidden ground faults of overhead line such as single-phase metallic grounding, arcing grounding, transition resistance grounding, insulator breakdown, and lightning arrester breakdown,etc.
ETCR1400 Overhead Line Ground Fault Detector consists of host, clamp detector, test wires, grounding rod, insulating rod and accessories. Wireless communication is used between the host and the clamp detector. The host adopts a 7-inch color screen, the fault can display clear and obvious, and the test results are clear at a glance. The innovative clamp detector integrates signal transmission and acquisition. The clamp-shaped structure is small in size, light weight, and easy to operate. It can complete the line fault detecting in once operation. The operation is simple and fast, which greatly reduces the work intensity of the test and improves the work efficiency. The clamp detector also as non-contact electroscope, which can check whether the cable is live, and issue an audible and visual alarm to ensure the safety of operators and equipment. The instrument also has Bluetooth communication function. After downloading the APP, can operate to testing, view test results, and view historical records on the mobile phone.

Application
Working Principle
The single-phase earth fault of 10KV overhead line is a kind of fault that often occurs, which will seriously affect the normal power consumption of users. In severe cases, may damage the substation equipment device and cause major safety accidents.
ETCR1400 Overhead Line Eart Fault Detector is suitable for detection of single-phase earth faults in overhead high-voltage lines not longer than 25 kilometers, and to accurately search and locate the earth fault point. (The high voltage line should stop running during the detection operation).
After the overhead line is stop working, the host instrument output low-frequency high-voltage signal, and the signal emission CT on the left and right sides of the signal collection CT apply AC voltage signals to the line respectively, and the high-sensitivity current transformer in the middle of the detection CT detects the current amplitude and phase on both sides. The current passes through the host, the detection CT, flows through the fault line, lead to the ground at the earth fault point, and returns to the host through the ground probe.
The tester output the high-voltage AC signal. The distributed capacitance and the fault grounding resistance form an RC parallel circuit. By detecting the voltage and current signals on both sides of the line and the phase between the voltage and the current, can determine whether the current load is a capacitive or inductive load. Compare the magnitude of the purely resistive impedance on the left and right to determine whether the earth fault is on the left or right side.
Operation Process On Site

Power on the detection clamp and the host, and check whether can wireless communicate succeed. If the wireless symbol is light on blue on the screen, indicate that that the host and the detection clamp are wireless communicate normally; if it is red, indicate the communication is faulty;

Insert the ground pin into the earth (at least 30CM deep), and then connect to the host by the special groud cable. The high-voltage test cable connect the detection clamp and the host;

Screw tighten and connect the detection clamp to the insulation rod; hold the insulation rod to make the detection clamp close to the high-voltage line, and check whether the detection clamp will make out audible alarm.

The detection clamp is hooked to the overhead line, and should be ensured that the detection clamp is hooked on correct place and the jaw is closed.

Press the "TEST" button of the host to start the test; if line fault is found after the test, the arrow on the host screen will indicates the direction of the fault point (note that the screen color corresponds to the left and right colors of the detection clamp), and a voice prompt is issued at the same time.
Earth fault location:
During the detection operation, the method of positioning along the line or Positioning segment the line can be adopted.

Positioning along the line: starting from one end of the line, test the high voltage line tower one by one.

Positioning segment the line : 1/2 method segment test, start the test from the midpoint of the line, and do 1/2 segment again along the line to the fault side until the fault point is found.
