Popularity:465
The EM5230 host computer system is equipped with comprehensive report export functionality, enabling the precise export and professional analysis and evaluation of parameter recording data. During operation, operators can use the system’s built-in parameter recording module to precisely filter and select the target parameter data to be exported based on actual testing requirements, without the need for additional data preprocessing. Once parameter selection is complete and the export command is triggered, the host computer software automatically applies preset national standard inspection specifications and evaluation criteria to perform comprehensive data analysis, logical validation, and result evaluation on the selected parameter data. This ultimately generates inspection reports that comply with industry standards, contain detailed data, and provide clear evaluations, offering reliable technical support for subsequent review of test results, data archiving, and compliance audits.
I. Preparations: Verifying the Serial Port and Connected Devices
Before you begin exporting reports, you must first ensure that communication between the instrument and the computer is working properly.
Right-click the EM5230 Power Quality Analyzer software, select “Run as Administrator,” and choose the COM4 port.

Figure 1: Schematic Diagram of the Software Interface
Open Device Manager on your computer to verify that the USB serial port has been correctly recognized. If the serial port is not recognized or appears abnormal, this is usually due to the driver not being installed correctly—an incorrect driver installation can prevent the device from being recognized. In this case, you’ll need to reinstall the corresponding USB driver to ensure that the appropriate COM port number appears in Device Manager.

After verifying that the serial port is correct, return to the EM5230 Power Quality Analyzer PC software and click “Connect” to start. If the main menu appears on the software interface, the connection has been established successfully.

II. Record Playback: Retrieving Test Data Stored by the Instrument
Data recorded by the instrument during on-site measurements is stored on a TF card and must be retrieved using the “Record Playback” function on the host computer.
On the host computer’s main interface, click the “Record Playback” icon to enter the parameter recording module. The software will then load the list of historical record files stored in the instrument.

III. Generating a Report: Configuring Parameters and Exporting
After retrieving the log file, you can proceed to the report generation phase.
Click the “Generate Report” button, and the system will display the report export wizard. Follow these steps to configure the settings:
1) Confirm the Export Path and Select Files
First, specify where to save the report file; we recommend choosing a folder that will make it easy to locate later. Next, check the boxes next to the target files you want to export in the record list (you can select multiple files) to confirm the data files to be processed.

2) Select the data types required for the report
The host computer supports the export of data types covering several core power quality metrics:

Figure 6: Schematic Diagram of Report Content Types
Operators may tick required items according to actual testing demands, including but not limited to:
a. Power Supply Voltage Deviation
b. Frequency Deviation
c. Three-Phase Voltage / Current Unbalance Factor
d. Harmonic Voltage
e. Harmonic Current
f. Voltage Flicker
Once you have made your selection, click “Next.”
3) Set Standard Values
After selecting the data type, you need to set the judgment standard values for each parameter.

Figure 7: Schematic Diagram of Standard Value Setting
The software typically comes preconfigured with default national standard limits (such as the voltage deviation limits specified in GB/T 12325-2008 and the harmonic limits specified in GB/T 14549-1993). If no adjustments are needed, you can simply use the default values.
If the testing scenario has special requirements, you can also manually modify the limit values for each parameter.
4) Enter Basic Report Information
On the report information entry screen, enter the information for this test.

Figure 8: Schematic Diagram of Basic Information
Relevant information includes:
a. Monitoring location
b. Monitoring time
c. Name of the monitored line
d. Voltage level
e. PT/CT transformation ratio
f. Testing organization
g. Description of operating conditions (e.g., “normal production load conditions”)
5) Confirm and Generate the Report
After completing the above configuration, the system will display a report outline for final confirmation. Once you have confirmed that everything is correct, click “Generate Report.” Generating the report may take some time; please be patient. Do not close the software or disconnect the device while the report is being generated.

Figure 9: Schematic Diagram of Report Generation
The host computer software automatically references preset national standards and testing specifications to comprehensively analyze, verify, and evaluate the selected parameter data, ultimately generating a test report that complies with industry standards.
IV. Viewing the Analysis Report
After the report is generated, navigate to the export path specified in the first step, find the generated Excel file and open it.
Different worksheets (Sheets) can be switched in the lower left corner of the Excel workbook. Each worksheet corresponds to a detailed report of a type of exported data.
Examples:
a. “Voltage Deviation” worksheet: Displays the maximum, average, and minimum values of voltage deviations for phases A, B, and C, as well as the assessment conclusions
b. “Harmonic Voltage” worksheet: Displays the contribution of each harmonic voltage and the total harmonic distortion
c. “Unbalance” worksheet: Displays statistical values and assessment results for three-phase voltage/current unbalance

Figure 11: Schematic Diagram of Harmonic Current Worksheet
Open the corresponding worksheet to view the complete data table and determination conclusions for this section.Compliance status of all parameters in the report is automatically marked, enabling quick identification of abnormal indicators.
V. Export Measurement Data (Supplementary Notes)
In addition to generating complete analysis reports, the upper computer software supports direct export of raw measurement data in XLS format, allowing users to conduct secondary data processing or create custom charts using other data analysis software.Operation procedure: On the Record Playback interface, click Export, select the target record file, and then specify the save path.
